Here are some simple instructions for getting the SupraFax 9600 or
14400 modem up and running on CNet AMIGA 2.x:
With the modem online to a terminal progam (any terminal program), issue
the following commands:
AT&F2 <-- load factory default set #2
ATL0 <-- speaker volume 0
ATM0 <-- speaker off
ATN1 <-- connect at highest possible speed
ATW2 <-- report connection with TERMINAL not COMPUTER
ATS2=31 <-- escape hangup code
ATS7=50 <-- time to wait for carrier
ATS38=0 <-- delay before forced disconnect
AT&W <-- write these changes to the modem's RAM
AT&W1
Now, in your CNet BBSPORTx file, you need to set the initialization strings
to:
ATZ <-- 1st initialization string
AT <-- 2nd initialization string
And the baud rate information to:
19200 <-- Waiting for call baud rate
1 <-- Lock the baud rate
Also, the time to wait for carrier to 50 seconds:
50 <-- Seconds to wait for carrier
That's it! The only other thing to remember is to keep your Supra modem
COOL. They are notorious for "crashing" whenever they feel it's getting
just a little too hot for comfort!
